Special Features:

Distilled in 1993, this Glentauchers matured for 31 years in first-fill sherry puncheon 2634. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 22 April 2025 at 55.5% as batch 24/002 for the Connoisseurs Choice range.

The single cask yielded 505 bottles at natural colour and without chill filtration. Each bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in a premium box.

Notes of old oak complement the aromatic interplay of vanilla, fruit, nuts and spices.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines creamy vanilla, spiced apple and a hint of citrus with a delicately bitter walnut note.
• Palate: On the palate, soft stewed fruit gives way to aniseed, forest honey and spicy oak. The texture is dense.
• Finish: The finish is full and spicy, with lingering ginger and candied dried fruit.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glentauchers is located between Keith and Aberlour in Speyside. Buchanan and Lowrie founded the distillery in 1897 on the site of Tauchers Farm; since 2007, Chivas Brothers has used it as a training centre for manual distillery operation.

Gordon & MacPhail was established in Elgin in 1895 and evolved from a grocery and spirits merchant into a family-owned independent specialist in selecting spirits, matching them with oak casks and maturing them over many years. George Urquhart launched Connoisseurs Choice in 1968 to make single malts from a range of Scottish distilleries available in their own right. For this bottling, Gordon & MacPhail selected first-fill sherry puncheon 2634 and bottled the whisky matured within it.
