Special Features:

Baineach is the second release in GlenWyvis’s Highland Legacy Series. Its Gaelic name means “weaver” and honours the women and weaving tradition of the Highlands. Artist Fiona Mackenzie drew on this theme when designing the label.

The whisky was matured in 73% first-fill Ruby Port barriques and 27% refill Oloroso Sherry hogsheads. The worldwide release comprises 1,500 bottles.

Baineach opens with milk chocolate, toffee and beeswax. Sweet orange cream candies and fizzy sweets follow on the palate with an oily texture; in the finish, prunes and ripe pear develop into dark chocolate.

Distillery/Bottler:

Baineach is an official bottling from GlenWyvis Distillery. Founded in Dingwall in 2015, the distillery is entirely community-owned and supported by more than 3,000 investors. Since production began in 2018, it has used wind, water, solar energy and biomass as energy sources.
