Golden Bitter Aperitivo di Monaco combines Italian aperitivo culture with a recipe jointly developed by Goldene Bar München and Destille Kaltenthaler. Its ingredients include chinotto, chamomile, rhubarb, gentian, coriander seeds and cardamom. The bitter is bottled by hand.

At 25% alcohol, it works well in a Negroni, Americano or Spritz, or served on its own over ice. For a Negroni, combine it with equal parts gin and red vermouth. This vegan bottling contains 0.7 litres.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines a distinctly bitter impression with fruity citrus notes and floral accents.
• Palate: On the palate, gentle sweetness balances the bitterness. Spicy and slightly earthy notes round out the flavour.
• Finish: The medium-length finish is dry and bitter, with lingering citrus notes and gentle spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Destille Kaltenthaler in Westhofen is a third-generation family business. Felix Kaltenthaler is its distiller and managing director. For Golden Bitter, the distillery in Rheinhessen collaborates with Goldene Bar München, whose founder Klaus St. Rainer contributes his experience in cocktail development. The launch was scheduled for Bar Symposium Cologne on 11 and 12 May 2026.
