Even the youngest Armagnac in Darroze Les Grands Assemblages 60 Years has matured for six decades. The house uses only Baco Armagnacs for this blend. Selecting them requires particular patience: only spirits that have retained their character throughout this long maturation qualify for blending. Across the range, Darroze brings together different terroirs, vintages and styles to achieve a balanced profile that remains consistent over time.

The miniature contains 0.05 litres of this blend at 42% and comes in gift packaging. Dried figs, other dried fruits and candied orange mingle with roasted coffee, cocoa and dark chocolate. Leather, toasted nuts, oak, spices and rancio complete the deeply matured aromatic range. The Armagnac is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dried figs mingle with roasted coffee, leather and candied orange. Cocoa and warm spice notes round out the aromas.
• Palate: The Armagnac is rich and velvety on the palate. Dried fruit, dark chocolate and toasted nuts meet oak, baking spices and mature rancio.
• Finish: The finish is very long. Oak and spices remain clearly present.

Distillery/Bottler:

Darroze works with independent estates in Bas-Armagnac and oversees the maturation of selected eaux-de-vie in its own cellars in Roquefort and Labastide-d’Armagnac. The family house’s story began with Jean Darroze, who introduced his son Francis to the wines and spirits of Gascony at his restaurant in Villeneuve-de-Marsan. In the late 1960s, Francis began selecting Armagnacs from estates in the region, maturing them further and bottling them. Today, Marc Darroze runs the house, with around thirty estates contributing to its collection.

While Darroze preserves the individuality of each estate in its Collection Unique, Les Grands Assemblages focuses on how different Armagnacs complement one another. For this range, the family house blends spirits from different origins and vintages. The age statement always refers to the youngest component, not the blend’s average age.
