Special features: This limited release from the renowned Hampden Distillery in Jamaica was published as part of the Magnum Series #3. The series combines masterful rum artistry with impressive photography and showcases works by Spanish photographer Cristina De Middel. The DOK rum is characterized by an exceptionally high ester content of 1,500 to 1,600 g/hlpa, giving it an intense aroma.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: A powerful bouquet of tropical fruits such as banana, pineapple, and mango, accompanied by distinct notes of varnish, acetone, and spicy wood. Subtle medicinal and balsamic tones add depth and complexity.
  • Palate: Full-bodied and robust, with a harmonious combination of ripe tropical fruits, ginger, spices, and a hint of smoke. A slight salty undertone rounds off the tasting experience.
  • Finish: Long and warm, with a distinctly ester-like character and lingering notes of wood, vanilla, and candied fruits.

Distillery/Bottler: The Hampden Distillery, founded around 1750, is located in the heart of Jamaica, in the Parish of Trelawny. Known for its heavy rums, which are distilled in copper pot stills, the distillery employs a long, natural fermentation process without the use of commercial yeasts. This traditional method, combined with the tropical climate, gives the rums their characteristic "funky" style.
