Havana Club 3 combines the light style of a white rum with at least three years of cask ageing in Cuba’s tropical climate. It is made from sugarcane molasses. Aromatic sugarcane spirits that have already been aged are blended with particularly light sugarcane distillates. The resulting young rums then rest in white oak casks.

After this ageing period, the Maestros Roneros select the casks for the final blend. The three-year-old rum rests once more before being filtered and bottled. In the glass, it has a pale golden straw colour. This bottling contains 0.7 litres at 37.5% alcohol and is suited to classic Cuban cocktails such as Mojitos and Daiquiris.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Vanilla, caramelised pear and banana stand out clearly on the nose. A subtle note of smoky oak accompanies the fruit, while sugarcane molasses adds to the bouquet.
• Palate: On the palate, vanilla and chocolate notes combine with a smoky accent.
• Finish: A light smoky note lingers on the finish with a hint of vanilla.

Distillery/Bottler:

Havana Club International S.A. was established in 1993 as a joint venture between Pernod Ricard S.A. and The Cuba Ron SA Corporation. The rums are produced in Cuba from Cuban raw materials. The Maestros del Ron Cubano bring together distillation, cask ageing and blending in a practice whose knowledge is passed down through generations.

The rum masters undergo at least fifteen years of training before creating Havana Club bottlings. Their responsibilities include selecting aged distillates and blending them for the individual bottlings. The knowledge of the Cuban rum masters was recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage in 2022.
