Heartgow Summer 2026 brings together two distinct types of cask: the single malt from the Harz matured in first-fill rye whiskey casks and Malaga Moscatel hogsheads. The bottling is part of the exclusive Seasonal Collection for Kirsch Import and is limited to 384 bottles. This combination of casks unites pronounced rye spice with dark fruit and honeyed sweetness.

Alongside mature cherries and raisins, vanilla, honey and rye bread shape the profile. Star anise and orange add further spicy and gently bitter accents, while wood and dried fruit carry the long finish.

The whisky was bottled in 2026 at 48% in 0.7-litre bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals mature cherries and sun-dried raisins, accompanied by honey and a hint of vanilla.
• Palate: On the palate, spicy rye bread and dark cherries meet orange, velvety vanilla and sweet raisins.
• Finish: The long, wood-forward finish combines vanilla with delicate honeyed sweetness and dried fruit.

Distillery/Bottler:

Hercynian Distilling Co. / Hammerschmiede in Walkenried has operated as a spirits producer since 1985 and began distilling single malt in 2002. For its whisky, it ferments the wort for 96 to 144 hours and distils it twice in traditional pot stills.

Its cask inventory includes Malaga, sherry, port, Marsala and Madeira casks, among others. The distillery bottles its whiskies by hand; Heartgow Summer 2026 is an original bottling from its own production.
