Special Features:

This Tasmanian single malt spent its entire ten-year maturation in very old 250-litre Oloroso casks from Jerez. The whisky was bottled at 46.2%.

For this small batch, Hellyers Road married whiskies from carefully selected casks. They were chosen from a maturation warehouse holding more than 6,500 full-size casks.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings together toffee, dark sugar syrup, orange zest and brioche with honey, caramel, ripe orange and clove.
• Palate: The whisky is mouth-filling on the palate, revealing rich caramel, honey, subtle chocolate and stewed fruit alongside orange marmalade, nuts and dark dried fruit.
• Finish: The finish is very smooth and elegant, lingering with gentle fruit sweetness and delicate spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Located in north-west Tasmania, Hellyers Road Distillery both produces and bottles the single malt. The distillery was established in 1997 by a dairy cooperative formed in 1956 by family-run dairy farms. It remains majority-owned by descendants of these families and is regarded as Australia’s oldest active whisky distillery.
