This fruit liqueur combines sloes with Emperor's Way Single Malt Whisky from Hammerschmiede. The tart fruit and smoky whisky character give it a distinctive profile between fruit liqueur and matured malt spirit. It is bottled at 28% alcohol in 0.7-litre bottles.

The liqueur can be enjoyed neat at room temperature or slightly chilled as a digestif. It also brings fruit and whisky together as a cocktail ingredient. Its reddish-brown colour and purple label with gold decoration define its appearance.

Distillery/Bottler:

Hercynian Distilling Co. / Hammerschmiede is based in Zorge in the Harz. Its spirits production began in 1985 with liqueurs; fruit and grain spirits followed later. The company has also produced single malt whisky since 2002. This sloe liqueur thus brings together two strands that have shaped the distillery's history.

For its whiskies, the distillery ferments malt wort in French oak washbacks before distilling it twice in wood-fired pot stills. During the second distillation, Anna Buchholz or an experienced distiller determines the cuts between heads, heart and tails. Only the selected heart is transferred to oak casks for maturation. This process concerns whisky production; the sloe liqueur contains Emperor's Way, a single malt made in-house.
