High Coast -Cinco, 50.5%
Special features: "Cinco" means "five" in Spanish and refers to the five different types of sherry casks in which this single malt has matured: Oloroso, Fino, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado, and Palo Cortado. Originally intended for an advanced masterclass, the High Coast distillery decided to blend some of these casks to create this unique whisky. It was bottled at an alcohol content of 50.5% and is neither colored nor chill-filtered. The bottling is limited to 5,195 bottles.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Intense sherry notes with aromas of dried fruits, coffee, and dark chocolate, accompanied by mild spices and a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Palate: Full-bodied and spicy with a balanced sweetness reminiscent of dates and honey, complemented by nutty nuances.
- Finish: Medium-length with a pleasant sweetness and a hint of ginger and cinnamon.
Distillery/Bottler: The High Coast Distillery, formerly known as Box Distillery, is located on the Ångermanälven River in northern Sweden. Founded in 2010, it has quickly earned a reputation for quality and innovation. The cool Nordic temperatures slow down maturation and allow the whiskies to develop exceptional depth and clarity. With a focus on small batches and creative cask experiments, the High Coast Distillery is redefining Sweden's place on the world whisky map.
