Special Features:

Batch 6 combines 76.82% unpeated and 23.18% peated single malt. Its maturation of more than six years involved ex-bourbon casks and casks made from Swedish, Hungarian and American oak, as well as new Mongolian oak. The ex-bourbon casks have a capacity of 200 litres, while the Swedish and Hungarian oak casks each hold 40 litres.

Hav means sea in Swedish. As part of the Origins range, this bottling evokes the distillery's location beside the Ångermanälven, where the river flows towards the Baltic Sea. This theme connects High Coast with a style shaped by fruit, spicy oak and a restrained thread of smoke.

The whisky is bottled at 48% without added colour or chill filtration. The different oak casks shape its spicy wood character, while fruit and vanilla accompany the light peat smoke.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Fruit, clove, nutmeg and spices unfold before light peat and delicate smoke emerge.
• Palate: Juicy fruit meets spicy oak; the peat smoke remains integrated and maintains the balance.
• Finish: Oak, clove and vanilla shape the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

High Coast Distillery AB produces Hav Batch 6 and bottles the single malt as an official High Coast release. The distillery is located in Bjärtrå beside the Ångermanälven. Cold river water provides cooling during production, while the whisky matures in unheated warehouses exposed to the pronounced seasonal temperature variations of northern Sweden.
