This 16-year-old special edition was created in collaboration with Swedish three-Michelin-starred chef Björn Frantzén. For the first time, Highland Park used virgin Swedish oak casks for one of its bottlings, combining them with ex-bourbon casks and sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks. The whisky was bottled at 48% ABV.

Rather than providing official tasting notes, the concept uses 16 association cards to encourage personal perception. Frantzén’s own associations on the packaging evoke crème brûlée and memories of Swedish baking. Marzipan, nutmeg and Christmas pastries shape the whisky’s sensory character, complemented by a fine smoky note and a dry finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals vanilla, citrus and orange, followed by marzipan, nutmeg and Christmas pastries. A touch of crème brûlée rounds out the bouquet.
• Palate: The whisky is intense and full-bodied on the palate. Spices and European oak combine harmoniously with the aromas found on the nose.
• Finish: The finish is balanced, warming and dry, accompanied by subtle citrus notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Highland Park Distillery is located on the Orkney Islands, north of Scotland. It distilled and composed this 16-year-old Orkney single malt before bottling it as a distillery release. For this edition, the distillery collaborated with Björn Frantzén, whose perspective also shapes the card concept and packaging.
