Highland Park 17 y.o. Between You and I - 1st Fill French Oak Red Wine Casks

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 48% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Highland Park Between You and I: Journeys is a 17-year-old single malt for the travel-retail market, created in collaboration with Björn Frantzén. First-fill French oak casks seasoned with red wine define the composition, complemented by sherry-seasoned American oak casks and refill casks.

The bottle contains 0.7 litres, and the whisky is bottled at 48%. It has no added colour and is non-chill-filtered. Highland Park describes the result as rich, fruity, complex and balanced.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, roasted hazelnuts and dark berries mingle with vanilla and heather honey.
• Palate: On the palate, caramel, orange peel and dried fruit meet delicate smoke.
• Finish: The finish is long, with oak spice and sweet peat defining the lingering notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Highland Park makes the whisky in Kirkwall and releases it as an official bottling; this travel-retail edition was created in collaboration with Björn Frantzén. The distillery turns some of its malt by hand and dries it in two traditional kilns. Its facilities include four medium-sized stills, and a large proportion of the whisky matures in earthen-floored dunnage warehouses beside the distillery.
