Special Features:

Finishing in a first-fill Château Talbot barrique gives this Inchgower a vinous side without obscuring its oily and nutty notes. Balsamic herbs and red berries complement its spicy character.

The single malt was distilled on 22 June 2016 and bottled from cask #2314204/2016 on 13 March 2025, after eight years. The single cask yielded 316 bottles at 57.1%. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

This bottling is part of Distiller’s Cut, the cask-strength selection within Brave New Spirits’ Cask Masters range. Its label, inspired by the Japanese paper-cutting art of kirigami, gives the age, cask type and bottling details.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose opens with olive oil and dark sugar syrup, followed by roasted walnut, redcurrant jam and clove.
• Palate: On the palate, dried fruit and pronounced walnut meet balsamic herbs. The flavour is sweet and spicy, with a velvety wine character.
• Finish: The long finish brings back dark sugar syrup and spice, while red berries add a slightly tart final note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Inchgower Distillery lies in Speyside between Fochabers and Buckie, near the coast. Its house style is malty, nutty and lightly maritime. For this bottling, Brave New Spirits selected whisky distilled there and bottled it from a single cask after its barrique finish.

Founded in 2020, Brave New Spirits is an independent whisky bottler and blender based in Glasgow. It has its own warehouse there and assembles single-cask ranges alongside other Scotch whisky brands. For Cask Masters, it selects casks with varied origins and maturation histories; Distiller’s Cut comprises the more powerful cask-strength bottlings.
