For this anniversary release, Kirsch Import selected an ex-Oloroso sherry barrique containing peated Raasay spirit. Distilled in 2021, the single malt matured in cask number 2021/142 and was bottled in 2026 to mark Kirsch Import's 50th anniversary. The release comprises 410 bottles.

This release combines the spirit's smoky character with the influence of the sherry cask. Dried fruit and spicy wood notes are joined by sweet fruit nuances and glazed cherries, accompanied by lingering wood smoke. The whisky was distilled, matured and bottled on Raasay. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.6%, without chill filtration or added colouring, and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dark dried fruit combines with sherry sweetness and spicy wood notes. A subtle maritime freshness complements the aromas.
• Palate: The palate is powerful and concentrated. Raisins, dried plums and cocoa meet warm spice notes and dry cask spice.
• Finish: The long finish remains dry and spicy. Sherry and oak notes persist, accompanied by a hint of dark fruit.

Distillery/Bottler:

Isle of Raasay Distillery is the first legal distillery on Raasay, an island in the Inner Hebrides. Its founders, Bill Dobbie and Alasdair Day, established R&B Distillers together in 2013. Built around the historic Borodale House, the distillery began operating on 14 September 2017. Production, maturation and bottling all take place on the island.

Raasay uses only Scottish barley and produces peated and unpeated spirit at different times of the year. Water comes from its own well beneath the distillery, passing through volcanic rock and Jurassic sandstone on its way there. Fermentation periods of three to five days encourage fruity notes to develop before cask maturation. The whisky casks are then stored in the island warehouses beside the distillery.
