Special Features:

This eight-year-old whisky is a Blended Scotch rather than a single malt, combining peated island malts, gentler Speyside and Highland malts, and grain whisky. Every component matures in oak casks for at least eight years. Fruit, malty sweetness and restrained peat smoke shape the blend, which is bottled at 40%.

Apricot, toffee and almond brittle complement the soft, creamy character. Sweet peas, oak and spices also feature in the aromatic profile. Fruity and sweet notes sit alongside gentle smoke, linking the blend's smooth core with its island character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, gentle sweetness, floral notes and citrus meet a subtle smoky note. Vanilla, oak and malt add a lightly honeyed nuance.
• Palate: Peat smoke, toffee, vanilla and heather come together on the palate. The opening is sweet and the texture viscous, with barley sugar sweetness and spices complementing the flavours.
• Finish: The finish is dry, with smoke remaining present in the aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

Ian Macleod Distillers manages the Isle of Skye brand and continues its recipe tradition. The blend dates back to Ian Macleod, who brought together selected whiskies from Skye and the Scottish mainland in 1933. Its recipe includes peated island malts, softer malts from Speyside and the Highlands, and grain whisky.

The family-owned company is based in Broxburn. The Russell family acquired Ian Macleod in 1963, the same year Isle of Skye joined the company. Alongside its work as a whisky bottler, the company developed its own distilling operations, acquiring Glengoyne in 2003 and Tamdhu in 2011.
