Special Features:

The 3-litre bottle offers classic Jägermeister herbal liqueur in a large format for serving. Its recipe combines 56 herbs, flowers, roots and fruits. Cold maceration produces 4 separate extracts from these ingredients, drawing their constituents into an alcoholic liquid. The extracts are blended together and then matured in oak.

The base blend matures for around one year before water, alcohol, liquid sugar and caramel are added to create the finished liqueur. More than 445 oak casks are available for maturation in the herbal liqueur cellar. The liqueur combines pronounced herbal spice and citrus notes with sweetness, bitter accents and warming spices. It can be enjoyed neat or in cocktails; as a shot, it is served at −18 °C.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals intense herbal aromas, orange peel, anise and cinnamon. A delicate menthol note accompanies the bitter impressions.
• Palate: On the palate, the liqueur is bittersweet and strongly herbal. Liquorice, cinnamon, ginger and citrus peel meet bitter root notes and a warming sweetness. The texture is smooth and oily.
• Finish: The medium-length finish is warming and slightly bitter. Anise and cloves remain present in the aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

The family company's history began in 1878, when Wilhelm Mast founded a vinegar factory in Wolfenbüttel. His son Curt later developed the Jägermeister recipe, and the herbal liqueur was launched in 1935. Wolfenbüttel remains the home of the brand and the headquarters of Mast-Jägermeister SE. The base blend matures there in oak casks. At the bottling plants in Wolfenbüttel Linden and Kamenz, it is combined with the remaining ingredients to make the finished liqueur and filled into bottles. Before dispatch, Jägermeister undergoes a total of 383 quality checks.
