Special Features:

Jaisalmer combines a classic juniper base with botanicals from different regions of India. Its recipe comprises eleven ingredients, including vetiver, Darjeeling green tea, lemongrass and cubeb pepper. Sweet orange peel from central India complements the citrus and floral notes. The Darjeeling green tea comes from eastern India. Angelica root, liquorice and caraway contribute to its spicy, slightly anise-like character.

The base is a triple-distilled neutral grain spirit, which is distilled again with the botanicals in a traditional copper pot still. This miniature contains 0.05 litres at 43% alcohol and is offered without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is intense, opening with zesty lemon and coriander. Juniper, citrus peel, aromatic spices and tea notes round out the aromas.
• Palate: On the palate, pine-like juniper combines with orange, lemon and spices. Angelica root and liquorice bring woody and earthy notes. Cubeb pepper adds a spicy accent, and the gin is medium- to full-bodied.
• Finish: The finish lingers and is dry. Tea, coriander seeds and peppery cubeb remain present alongside sweet citrus notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Jaisalmer is made by Radico Khaitan, whose history began in 1943 under the name Rampur Distillery. The gin is produced in Rampur, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, at the foot of the Himalayas. There, Jaisalmer's Master Distiller works with small batches and a traditional copper still.

Launched in 2018, the brand takes its name from the city of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan's Thar Desert. Its visual identity draws on the history of this former trading city: the fort and the blackbuck antelope in the logo refer to the city and its royal symbolism.
