This limited release from Rum Nation showcases Jamaican rum without cask maturation. The spirit comes from St. Catherine and is distilled entirely in pot stills from molasses. With no wood ageing, the white rum's fruity, ester-led and spicy impressions take centre stage.

The rum is bottled at 55.5%, without chill filtration or added colouring. Its aromatic power suits cocktails in which the rum should stand out clearly. It can also be enjoyed neat, with a little water or over ice.

A heavy, oily mouthfeel complements the fruity, spicy character. Grassy nuances and subtle vanilla notes add to the palate's flavours; liquorice and delicate oak spice also emerge in the finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, intense ester notes mingle with tropical fruit and warm spice. Overripe banana and sugarcane round out the powerful aroma.
• Palate: The rum is powerful on the palate, with juicy pineapple and green banana. Intense spicy warmth meets a raw sugarcane sweetness.
• Finish: The long finish is warm and dry. Jamaican funk and fruity notes linger, accompanied by a hint of earthy spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Rum Nation was founded in 1999 by the Italian Fabio Rossi. The independent bottler selects rums from different countries, choosing them for their regional characteristics. Its range extends from well-known rum-producing countries such as Jamaica and Barbados to Peru and Bougainville. Postage-stamp motifs on the labels reflect each rum's origin.

The spirit for this bottling comes from Worthy Park in St. Catherine. The Jamaican estate combines its own sugarcane cultivation with a sugar factory and a distillery. Worthy Park makes rum using molasses from its own sugar production. Its energy supply is also linked to sugarcane processing: the fibres left after pressing are used as fuel to generate electricity in the sugar factory.
