This rosé Pineau des Charentes combines juice from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with organic Eau-de-Vie de Cognac. Blending grape juice with Cognac creates a fortified wine, which then matures in oak casks for at least eight months. Its fruity freshness sits alongside a soft, sweet structure.

Bottled at 18% alcohol, this Pineau comes in a 0.75-litre bottle without gift packaging. Served lightly chilled, it makes an aperitif or an accompaniment to a selection of cheeses and fruit desserts.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals intense notes of strawberries, raspberries and fresh cherries. Floral and lightly spicy nuances accompany hints of vanilla and wood.
• Palate: The opening is sweet and fruity. On the palate, the Pineau feels soft and velvety; the freshness of red fruit combines with the delicate acidity of the grape juice and the roundness of the Cognac.
• Finish: The long finish retains fruity and honeyed notes, leaving a fresh impression.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Jean-Luc Pasquet family estate is located in Éraville in Grande Champagne. Jean-Luc Pasquet’s son Jean runs the estate, continuing the family’s work together with Amy Pasquet.

The move towards organic viticulture began with a search for a solution to the declining health of a vineyard plot. Jean-Luc applied for organic certification in 1995; the first fully organic harvest followed in 1998. Today, Jean is responsible for winemaking and distillation, while Amy handles customer relations and administration, among other duties. Alongside Cognac, the estate also produces aperitifs such as Pineau des Charentes.
