Special Features:

This Jura is a 16-year-old single-cask bottling from first-fill Oloroso sherry butt 17. The whisky was distilled on 15 April 2009 and spent its entire maturation in this cask. Signatory Vintage bottled it for the Cask Strength Collection on 26 March 2026 at 54.2%, yielding 679 bottles. The whisky has its natural colour and is non-chill filtered.

The Oloroso maturation brings together ripe figs, sweet dates and walnut with a subtle maritime salinity. Dark chocolate, cinnamon and oak lead into toasted almond, leather and a long, dry finish. Orange peel, honeyed malt and vanilla complete the profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe figs and sweet dates mingle with slightly bitter walnut, while a subtle salty coastal note lends the bouquet maritime depth.
• Palate: On the palate, powerful sherry notes meet dark chocolate, warming cinnamon and dry oak spice. The texture is dense, oily and full-bodied.
• Finish: The finish is long and dry, with lingering toasted almonds, a subtle hint of leather and spicy oak notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Isle of Jura Distillery on the Scottish island of Jura distilled this single malt in 2009. The distillery was established in 1810, closed in 1901 and resumed production in 1963 after being rebuilt. Its water flows from Market Loch to the distillery, while its exceptionally tall and broad stills increase copper contact and contribute to a fruity, aromatic new make spirit.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. In 2002, the company acquired Edradour Distillery, one of Scotland’s smallest distilleries; by 2007, Signatory had moved its entire operation to the distillery’s site near Pitlochry. As an independent bottler, Signatory Vintage selected butt 17 for the Cask Strength Collection and bottled the Jura matured in it at cask strength on 26 March 2026.
