Special features: This 15-year-old single malt whisky is the first bottling from Kavalan with an age statement and has matured in four unique casks: Ex-Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry, Ruby Port, and Puncheon. The bottling marks a milestone in the history of the Taiwanese distillery and was released in March 2025 with a limited edition of 30,000 bottles worldwide.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Seductive aromas of caramel apple mousse, fresh chocolate, walnut cinnamon rolls, and creamy popcorn, interwoven with subtle notes of dried mandarin peel and plum. The finish reveals the sweetness of toffee and black dates, evoking a warm, enjoyable sweetness.
- Palate: Lush citrus aromas of bergamot, lemon, orange, and grapefruit dance with sweet hints of dried cranberries, raisins, and longan. Velvety notes of dark chocolate ice cream and caramel walnut coffee mousse unfold.
- Finish: The finish is long-lasting and accompanied by the comforting warmth of spicy cinnamon notes.
Distillery/Bottler: The Kavalan Distillery, founded in 2005 in Yilan County, Taiwan, is part of the King Car Group. Since its first bottling in 2008, it has earned an excellent reputation and received numerous international awards. The distillery utilizes Taiwan's subtropical climatic conditions to produce whiskies with unique character.
