Special features: The Kilchoman 11 Year Sherry Cask is a single malt whisky produced at the Kilchoman Distillery on the Scottish Isle of Islay. This bottling matured for at least 11 years in 16 carefully selected ex-Oloroso sherry casks that were previously used by José y Miguel Martín in Jerez. It is bottled at 50% alcohol content, at cask strength, without chill filtration and without coloring. This production method preserves the authentic flavors and quality of the whisky.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The aroma presents notes of orange peel, dried fruits, light peat smoke, and sweet spices.
- Palate: On the palate, a rich smoke unfolds, accompanied by dark chocolate with honey, cooked apples, and malty sweetness.
- Finish: The finish is characterized by grilled fruits, plums, blackcurrants, and lingering wood smoke.
Distillery/Bottler: The Kilchoman Distillery, founded in 2005, is an independent and family-run farm distillery. It is distinguished by the use of its own barley, which is grown on the Rockside Farm and malted on-site. Kilchoman conducts the entire production process, from growing the barley to bottling, on Islay, making it one of the few distilleries in this category.
