Special features: This limited cask strength release from the Kilchoman distillery on Islay combines a typical blend of sherry and bourbon casks. The “Dark Batch” edition impresses with intense smoke paired with sweet notes of dark fruits and spices. Bottled without chill filtration and without coloring, the whisky presents itself in a dark amber tone.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Toffee sweetness, dark fruits, red berries, and lightly smoky oak wood.
- Palate: Intense sweetness, spiced dark chocolate, raisins, licorice, and warming, rich peat smoke.

Distillery/Bottler: Kilchoman is one of the few family-run distilleries on Islay and is known for its traditional production in the “Farm Distillery” style. Since its founding in 2005, Kilchoman has stood for handcrafted single malts with a pronounced peat character. The “Sanaig” series showcases a particularly sherry- and bourbon cask-influenced facet of the Islay distillate, personally overseen by founder Anthony Wills.
