Killepitsch combines a secret family recipe with a wide selection of natural ingredients. Ingredients from more than 98 herbs, berries and fruits from around the world are stored in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The herbal liqueur has an alcohol content of 42% and contains no colouring.

The gift box contains twelve bottles of 0.02 litres each, totalling 0.24 litres. Its cardboard case features a map of Düsseldorf's old town, showing places such as Carlsplatz, the Rhine promenade and the Et Kabüffke tasting room. The miniatures can be shared individually, and the liqueur can be served neat and lightly chilled.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Intense herbal notes mingle with cinnamon and cloves on the nose. Ripe plums and sweet dates complement the aroma. A delicate citrus note provides contrast, while cocoa and liquorice add depth.
• Palate: Bold herbs and ripe plums meet a gentian-like bitterness on the palate. The flavour is sweet and spicy, with a dense texture. Caramel and vanilla round it out.
• Finish: Herbs and spices linger for a long time. A subtle dark berry note accompanies the warm finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Likörfabrik Peter Busch GmbH & Co. KG produces Killepitsch in Düsseldorf. Its history is closely linked to the old town and the Et Kabüffke tasting room on Flinger Strasse, which opened in 1955.

The name stems from a promise between Willi Busch and the writer Hans Müller-Schlösser during the Second World War: if they both survived the war, Busch would develop a special spirit for his friend. When Et Kabüffke opened, Müller-Schlösser was able to taste the finished Killepitsch. The recipe remained in the family. While earthenware vessels were once used for storage, the company now uses stainless steel tanks.
