Special Features:

Corriecravie is Lagg’s more robust, sherry-led core expression. The distillery uses peated Concerto barley malt, water from its own borehole and selected yeast. The wort undergoes an extended fermentation. The whisky first matures in bourbon casks, then spends about six months finishing in Oloroso sherry hogsheads from Miguel Martín in Jerez.

Red berries and dark chocolate give the smoky style a fruity sweetness. Hazelnut and sweet spices complement the charred and oaky notes without eclipsing the peat character. Corriecravie is bottled at 55% alcohol, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dark chocolate and spiced red berries come together on the nose.
• Palate: The whisky is full and juicy on the palate, with subtle notes of charred embers and hazelnut.
• Finish: Charred oak, smoke, hazelnut, dark chocolate and sweet spices linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Lagg Distillery stands near Kilmory in the south of the Isle of Arran. Construction began in 2017, and the first middle cut flowed from its stills in March 2019. With Lagg, Isle of Arran Distillers created a counterpart to Lochranza distillery focused on heavily peated single malt.

The distillery ferments its wort in four Douglas fir washbacks and distils it in copper stills designed specifically for its peated style. Corriecravie is an original bottling from Lagg Distillery.
