Special features: The Laizhou Blender 22 is an innovative blended whisky from the Laizhou Distillery, founded in 2021, in the historic distilling region of Qionglai, China. With an impressive annual production capacity of 4.8 million liters, the distillery combines modern distillation technology with traditional methods. A special feature is its own cooperage, which allows for precise control of flavors. Maturation takes place in a variety of casks, including STR and sherry casks, as well as rice wine barrels and barrels made from Mongolian oak, resulting in a unique tasting experience.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Fresh citrus fruits, sweet apples and pears, accompanied by honey and a hint of malt and oak.
- Palate: Light and mild with a subtle sweetness and a watery taste.
- Finish: A touch of smokiness, accompanied by a burning sensation and a distinct bitterness.
