Special Features: The Laizhou Bourbon Cask - Peated Chinese Single Malt Whisky is produced at the Laizhou Distillery in China. This bottling matures in first-fill American bourbon barrels and is made from 100% Scottish, medium-peated malted barley. With an alcohol content of 50% and packaged in gift packaging, this whisky offers an intense tasting experience. Additionally, it is not chill-filtered, preserving the full expression of its aromas.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines a hint of citrus fruits with smoke. This combined impression leads to an intense palate, where lemon and lime peels harmonize with rich chocolate and mineral notes, while hints of BBQ sauce create an elegant finish.
• Palate: The taste presents itself fresh and salty, accompanied by a sea breeze as well as notes of sharp green apples, ripe pears, and apple candies. Flavors of rhubarb, vanilla pudding candies, and lemon drizzle cake develop, while bright peat smoke, burning grass, and pine are consistently present.
• Finish: The finish lingers with sweet pine and apple, combined with fragrant smoke.

Distillery/Bottler: The Laizhou Distillery was founded in 2021 in Qionglai, Sichuan, and achieves an annual production capacity of 4.8 million liters. It utilizes a flexible distillation technology with 15 pot stills and column stills, as well as its own cooperage to precisely control the development of flavors. The distillery uses international raw materials such as Scottish malted barley as well as regional grains from Sichuan and has an extensive cask portfolio that also includes STR and sherry casks.
