Special Features:

Laizhou Fino Sherry Cask is matured exclusively in first-fill casks that previously held Fino sherry from the protected D.O. Jerez designation of origin. The Fino underwent biological ageing beneath a layer of flor yeast.

This Chinese single malt is bottled at 46%. Raisins, plum jam and jujubes shape its fruit character, while cedarwood, liquorice and delicately spiced oak give the profile definition; salted plum balances the sweet notes.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals cinnamon and cedarwood alongside raisins, plum jam, salted plums, jujubes, brown sugar and toasted dried fruit.
• Palate: On the palate, gentle sweetness and spice combine with caramel, liquorice and distinct oak spice.
• Finish: Liquorice and spicy oak remain present in the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Laizhou Distillery is located in Qionglai in the Chinese province of Sichuan. It produces this single malt and releases it as a distillery bottling.

The facility operates eight pot stills and seven column still systems and maintains its own STR cask workshop. It holds a three-star Green Building certification and is pursuing the long-term goal of carbon neutrality.
