Special Features:

This gift set brings together three distinctive Langatun single malts: Old Deer Classic, Old Crow Peated and Old Wolf Smoky. Each miniature contains 0.05 litres at 46%, giving a total volume of 0.15 litres. The whiskies are non-chill-filtered and bottled without added colouring.

Old Deer is made from unpeated malted barley and matured in sherry and Chardonnay casks. For Old Crow, the malted barley is dried over peat smoke. Old Wolf marries Langatun whiskies from different casks: sherry casks contribute fruit and sweetness, while a spirit made from peat-smoked malt matures in former red wine casks.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Old Crow opens with sweet smoke and tobacco. Old Deer offers floral barley and sweet red berries. Old Wolf combines caramel, roasted almonds, ripe peach, forest honey and stewed cherries with delicate saline notes and subtle sweet smoke.
• Palate: Old Crow combines smoke with salted caramel and red wine. Old Deer brings together fresh fruit, sultanas, vanilla and oak. Old Wolf reveals dried fruit, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, wood and clove, accompanied by well-integrated peat smoke.
• Finish: Old Crow fades into a warm finish of tobacco, dark chocolate and peanut butter. Old Deer ends with a long, velvety-smooth finish. Old Wolf closes dry and woody, with tannins and light smoke.

Distillery/Bottler:

Langatun Distillery AG produces all three single malts and bottles them in-house for this set. Langatun’s present-day production continues the tradition of the family distillery founded in 1857. Whisky production moved to the historic granary in Aarwangen in 2014, while cask storage and maturation continue to take place in Langenthal.
