Special Features:

Batch 377/02/25 embodies the classic Old Deer style. This Swiss single malt matures in sherry and Chardonnay casks and is bottled at 46% ABV in a 0.5-litre bottle. Its aromatic spectrum ranges from floral barley notes and red berries to fresh fruit, raisins, vanilla and oak.

It is made from 100% European barley malt and selected yeast. Careful double distillation shapes the whisky’s smooth, delicate and malty character before maturation in the two types of wine cask adds further complexity.

The whisky retains its natural colour and is not chill-filtered. The 0.5-litre bottle comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Floral barley notes and sweet red berries open the nose with a fruity, malty character.
• Palate: Fresh fruit, raisins and vanilla combine on the palate with a delicate touch of oak.
• Finish: The finish is long and velvety-smooth, leaving subtle notes of oak and dried fruit.

Distillery/Bottler:

Langatun Distillery AG produces Old Deer and releases this batch as a distillery bottling. Langatun is responsible for selecting the raw materials, distillation and cask maturation. Jakob Baumberger founded a distillery in 1857, and Hans Baumberger III resumed whisky production in 2005. The first three-year-old Olde Deer appeared in 2008, continuing the family’s distilling tradition.

Since 2014, Langatun has produced its spirits in the historic, listed granary in Aarwangen. Cask storage and maturation continue to take place in Langenthal.
