Special Features:

Le Malt brings together three cask influences in a single malt from Alsace. After distillation, the whiskies matured in bourbon, Banyuls and sherry casks before being married. This bottling was the first assemblage of its kind in the Version Française range, combining a floral character with fruity, spicy and sweet impressions.

This non-smoky whisky is bottled at 40% alcohol in a 0.5-litre bottle and comes in gift packaging. It contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is delicate and floral. Pear and white peach mingle with hazelnut, bergamot and white flowers.
• Palate: On the palate, fruity notes of nectarine and Golden Delicious apple meet cinnamon and a liquorice stick.
• Finish: Sweet pastry notes on the finish recall tarte Tatin, accompanied by pear in syrup. Gentle spices and lilac round out the finish, while a green, vegetal note provides a contrast.

Distillery/Bottler:

Version Française was established in 2020 as an independent bottling range for French whiskies and other spirits. It focuses on selecting distillates and casks and overseeing maturation. The range highlights differences between grain varieties, stills, woods and regional climates. Short supply chains and collaboration with smaller producers are part of its approach.

Le Malt is distilled in Alsace and bottled by La Maison du Whisky. Marrying whiskies matured in different casks distinguishes this bottling from the single-cask whiskies that also feature in the Version Française range.
