Special Features:

Lillet Blanc combines white wines made from Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc with fruit macerations. Sémillon accounts for the larger share of the wine base and contributes body and structure. Sweet and bitter oranges, together with cinchona bark, are among the aromatic ingredients. The fruit macerations are made in Podensac itself; further ingredients from the secret recipe are added. Before bottling, the blend matures for one year in oak casks of Yugoslav origin.

This pale golden aperitif combines fruity and floral impressions with honeyed sweetness, light acidity and restrained bitterness. It can be enjoyed well chilled, neat or over ice, and also works as a base for cocktails. Tonic water and a slice of orange make a simple spritz. The bottle contains 0.75 litres at 17% alcohol.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, honey and quinine bitterness meet floral notes of honeysuckle and jasmine. Candied orange peel, lemon zest and lime zest complement passion fruit and fresh apricot.
• Palate: On the palate, Lillet Blanc is gently sweet and soft, balanced by delicate quinine bitterness. Honey, candied orange peel and dandelion combine with mango and passion fruit. Light acidity and subtle pine and mint notes complete the flavour.
• Finish: Floral notes, zesty lime and honey linger on the finish, balanced by acidity. Compared with the gently sweet palate, the finish feels refreshingly dry.

Distillery/Bottler:

Maison Lillet has been based in Podensac, south of Bordeaux, since 1872. A small team of around ten people selects French wines and combines them with fruit macerations made on site. A large proportion of the wines comes from growers around Bordeaux. Freshness and aromatic character guide the selection of fruit and peel.
