Special Features:

Limited to 594 bottles, this Linkwood release belongs to James Eadie’s The Distilleries of Great Britain & Ireland series. Distilled in 2011, the Speyside single malt matured entirely in two re-charred hogsheads for 14 years and was bottled in 2025 at 52.4%. It was bottled at natural colour and without chill filtration.

Pear, apple and peach combine with vanilla, honey, caramel and almond. Spices, orange and toasted wood add sweet and spicy accents to the fruity core.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: The nose combines marzipan, butterscotch, candied lemon peel, honeysuckle blossoms and crème brûlée.
  • Palate: Apple strudel, apricot preserve, poached pears, greengages and crisp white grapes emerge on the palate.
  • Finish: The finish is medium-long to long, with candied orange peel and rich white chocolate meeting a sweet, spicy note of toasted oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

Linkwood Distillery is located near Elgin in Speyside. As early as 1924, the distillery, then known as Linkwood-Glenlivet, stood in a small wood around two miles south-east of the town, surrounded by open hills. Most Linkwood malt is destined for blends, while distillery bottlings remain comparatively rare.

James Eadie traces its origins to the brewing and bottling business founded by its namesake in 1854. His great-great-grandson, Rupert Patrick, revived the brand. Today, the company focuses in part on cask-finished whiskies as well as single-cask and small-batch releases.

The Distilleries of Great Britain & Ireland series draws on a collection of articles published between 1922 and 1929, documenting 124 distilleries in more than 640 photographs. Around a century later, James Eadie published this material as a standalone book and developed the bottling series from it. Its labels feature illustrated interpretations of historic distillery photographs.
