This twelve-year-old Loch Lomond combines spirit from the distillery’s characteristic straight-neck stills with spirit from traditional swan-neck stills.

The whisky matures in three types of American oak cask: bourbon, refill and newly charred casks. Master Blender Michael Henry oversees the marrying of the matured components.

The bottling contains 0.7 litres at 46% alcohol. It is non-chill-filtered and bottled without added colouring.

Peach and pear shape its fruity side, complemented by vanilla sweetness and a delicate touch of smoke on the finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals crisp green apple, ripe pear and fresh lemon against a background of golden cereal notes.
• Palate: Orchard fruits combine with lemon meringue on the palate. Pear leads into lemon, vanilla meringue and a light biscuit sweetness.
• Finish: The medium-length finish combines gentle wood smoke with a lingering bitter note.

Distillery/Bottler:

This twelve-year-old single malt is bottled by Loch Lomond Distillery. The distillery is located in the Scottish Highlands, near Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Its single malts are produced in Straight Neck Pot Stills and traditional Swan Neck Pot Stills, while fermentation lasting at least 92 hours supports the fruity house style.

Loch Lomond is one of the few Scottish distilleries with its own cooperage. Its coopers tighten metal hoops, repair or replace staves and re-char the wood, preparing around 10,000 casks for refilling each year. This work is directly relevant to this bottling, as newly charred American oak casks are one of the three cask types used for it.
