Special Features:

This release was distilled at Loch Lomond in 2019 exclusively from malted barley in a column still. The whisky initially matured in bourbon barrels before spending four years in Koval bourbon quarter casks. Murray McDavid bottled it in 2026 at seven years of age for the Select Grain range.

A smaller quarter cask has a greater internal wood surface area relative to the volume of liquid, which can intensify the wood's influence. The aromatic profile combines banana milkshake and toasted oak with buttered popcorn, caramel and delicate spices; vanilla and cinnamon remain present throughout the lingering finish.

• Nose: On the nose, ripe banana and creamy notes evoke a banana milkshake, accompanied by warm, toasted oak.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet buttered popcorn and soft caramel mingle with delicate spices.
• Finish: The lingering finish combines vanilla with a hint of cinnamon and fades in a balanced manner.

Loch Lomond Distillery produced this Single Grain exclusively from malted barley in a column still. Murray McDavid selected a maturation in bourbon barrels followed by four years in Koval bourbon quarter casks and bottled the whisky for the Select Grain range.

Murray McDavid was founded in 1994 by wine merchants Mark Reynier and Simon Coughlin together with Gordon Wright of Springbank. The independent bottler soon established a reputation for maturation in unusual casks, particularly fine wine casks. The brand now belongs to Aceo Ltd. and operates from Coleburn Distillery in Speyside.
