Special features: The Lochlea Ploughing Edition 3rd Crop is the final release of the seasonal releases and at the same time the smokiest. This limited edition matured in carefully selected ex-Islay casks, each providing an intense aroma with 200 liters. The release reflects the adaptation of the whiskies to the seasonal conditions of the family-run farm distillery and offers a unique tasting experience.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Strong aromas of grain, fresh, crisp green apples, and delicious malt cookies, underpinned by a subtle smokiness.
Palate: Full-bodied and complex, the whisky unfolds its fruity and malty notes, complemented by the characteristic coastal aromas of the Islay casks.
Finish: Long and smoky, with a harmonious interplay of sweet and salty elements that underscores its maritime origin.
Distillery/Bottler: The Lochlea Distillery, located in picturesque Lowland Scotland, is a family-run business characterized by its close connection to agriculture and the changing seasons. This philosophy is reflected in the carefully crafted whiskies that are bottled in small batches and embody the quality and tradition of the region.
