Special Features:

Distilled at Macduff in 2011, this single malt matured for thirteen years in a combination of first-fill and refill Oloroso sherry butts. Signatory Vintage bottled it in 2025 as No. 55 in the 100 Proof Edition.

Its maturation brings notes of dried red fruit, chocolate, leather, spices and oak. The whisky was bottled at 57.1%, equivalent to 100 UK proof, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, Oloroso sherry, vanilla and spices mingle with dried red fruit, honeycomb and orange peel. Nutty toffee and polished oak complete the bouquet.
• Palate: The whisky is rounded and full-bodied on the palate. Raisin bread and spiced apple compote meet dark chocolate, leather and sherry fruit, with cinnamon, hazelnut praline and oak adding further accents.
• Finish: The medium-long to long finish remains warming, spicy and distinctly sherry-driven, accompanied by light tobacco and Demerara sugar.

Distillery/Bottler:

Macduff Distillery began operating in 1960 on the River Deveron near the Scottish coastal town of Macduff. Its official single malts are released under the Glen Deveron name, while independent bottlings such as this one bear the distillery name Macduff.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. After acquiring Edradour Distillery in 2002, the company had fully relocated its operations to Pitlochry by 2007. Macduff Distillery produced the single malt, while Signatory Vintage bottled it as an independent bottler.
