Special Features:

This small-batch bottling brings together peated and unpeated single malts from Islay and Speyside, including mature GlenAllachie whisky. Billy Walker composed the blended malt and matured it at The GlenAllachie Distillery in a combination of first-fill bourbon, Pedro Ximénez and red wine casks.

The name Lum Reek refers to the traditional Scottish toast «Lang may yer lum reek», which expresses a wish for a long life. The whisky is bottled at 46% in a bottle containing 0.7 litres, retains its natural colour and is non-chill-filtered; the bottle comes in a tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sweet peat smoke and butterscotch mingle with warming mocha and gentle nutmeg.
• Palate: The whisky is rich on the palate, where heather honey, bold toffee and sweet spices are underpinned by peaty notes.
• Finish: The finish is long and warming. Lingering smoke combines with delicate sherry sweetness and a hint of toasted caramel.

Distillery/Bottler:

The MacNair's brand traces its origins to its founder, Harvey MacNair, in the 19th century. Today it is led by Master Blender Billy Walker, who brings around five decades of whisky-industry experience and focuses on blending and further cask maturation of spirits. Lum Reek is part of The GlenAllachie Distillers Company, an independent business; Walker is responsible for the recipe of this bottling, which is matured at The GlenAllachie Distillery.
