This one-litre bottle contains Maker's Mark's classic Kentucky Straight Bourbon at 45%. Its recipe uses soft red winter wheat instead of rye. The wheat contributes to the sweetness on the palate, while new charred American white oak barrels help shape the vanilla notes. Every bottle receives its distinctive red wax seal by hand.

Alongside vanilla and oak, cherry, caramel and a velvety mouthfeel contribute to its smooth, balanced character. The one-litre bottle offers the same classic core expression in a larger format. It is sold individually, without additional bar accessories, rather than as a multi-bottle hospitality pack.

Tasting Notes:

Distillery/Bottler:

Maker's Mark bourbon is produced at Star Hill Farm in Loretto, Kentucky. Bill Samuels Sr. developed its wheat-led recipe in the 1950s, initially testing different grain mixtures by baking bread. Margie Samuels created the name, bottle design and red wax seal. In 1958, the first finished bottle was dipped in wax by hand.

The distillery distils twice using copper equipment from Vendome Copper & Brass Works. Before the barrels are made, the American white oak is seasoned outdoors for nine months plus a Kentucky summer to reduce bitter tannins. During maturation, the barrels are moved by hand between different temperature zones in the warehouse. This helps maintain a consistent character; maturity is judged by taste, not simply by time spent ageing.
