Special Features:

The Watch is a 13-year-old Mannochmore from Brave New Spirits’ third WhiskyHeroes release. The single malt was finished in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry barrique. This single-cask bottling, identified by cask number 2313203/2012, yielded 315 bottles at 55.3% ABV.

Its citrus notes range from orange zest and lemon sorbet to candied lemon and orange liqueur. Sour sweets and hints of an Old Fashioned add a bitter edge alongside sherry sweetness and spice. The whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, orange zest and lemon sorbet mingle with sour sweets and sherry spice.
• Palate: The palate brings candied lemon, orange liqueur and bitter cocktail bitters.
• Finish: The medium-length finish leaves lingering dry citrus acidity and sweet spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Mannochmore is located near Birnie, south of Elgin in Speyside. Founded in 1971, the distillery was built beside Glenlossie. Most of its malt goes into blends, making it less common as a single malt in its own right.

Brave New Spirits is an independent bottler based in Glasgow. Founded in 2020, it selects Scottish whiskies and casks for its ranges. WhiskyHeroes brings together single casks and small batches; The Watch illustrates this approach through its PX sherry finish and limited bottle count.
