Micil Irish Poitin 0.5 l
Special features: The Micil Irish Poitin is produced at the Micil Distillery in Galway, Ireland, following a unique family recipe. This recipe, which dates back to the sixth generation, combines malted barley with the local plant "Bogbean," which is native to Connemara. This special blend gives the Poitin a distinctive spice and depth. Poitin, often referred to as Ireland's "Original Spirit," was banned for over 200 years and was only legalized again in 1997.
Tasting Notes:
-
Nose: Aromas of sweet grain, vanilla, and a creamy fruitiness.
-
Palate: Sweet and fruity with grain notes and a light herbal note.
-
Finish: Creamy with a subtle grain note.
Distillery/Bottler: The Micil Distillery in Galway, Ireland, was founded in 2016 by Pádraic Ó’Griallas and is the first legal distillery in Galway in over 100 years. The Ó’Griallas family has been distilling Poitin for over 170 years and places great importance on traditional production methods as well as the use of local ingredients.
