Special Features:

Wheat, repeated distillation and slow filtration through birch charcoal are central to Moskovskaya. The alcohol is distilled six times and passes through additional natural filters. The distillate is then cooled under controlled conditions and brought to bottling strength with soft water from the company's own artesian spring.

This bottling is produced in Latvia from EU-grown wheat and contains 38% alcohol. The bottle holds 1 litre and comes without additional packaging. The vodka is suitable both for drinking neat and as a base for cocktails and long drinks.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, grain and white pepper mingle with a delicate sweetness reminiscent of icing sugar and pale honey. Bread crust, rye bread and an impression of a damp granary add to the aroma. Citrus peel and a hint of mint bring a cool freshness.
• Palate: On the palate, the vodka starts softly and slightly sweet before spicy accents emerge. White pepper, a hint of black pepper and a gentle tingle accompany the distinct grain note. Vanilla and a little almond skin add to the flavour. The texture feels silky and almost creamy; lightly toasted bread and a very subtle nutty note appear on the mid-palate.
• Finish: The long finish feels cool and dry. Pepper and grain linger alongside a subtle sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Moskovskaya's history dates back to 1894 and has its roots in Russia. Since 2022, all production for the German brand, from distillation to bottling, has taken place within the EU. The brand is owned by the family business Simex GmbH & Co. KG in Jülich, founded in 1962 and still owned by the founding Savelsberg family.

Slow passage through several layers of birch charcoal is a characteristic part of the production process. Together with multi-stage distillation and water from the company's own artesian spring, this filtration underpins the clear, mild style.
