Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The Extra Marriage Edition opens with aromas of honey, beeswax, and tropical pineapple, accompanied by nutmeg and ginger. A gentle, elegant smoky character with rich earthiness rounds off the bouquet.
• Palate: On the palate, notes of candied lemon and cocoa powder unfold, complemented by roasted grain aromas and plum jam. A mineral, salty peat finish adds depth and complexity.
• Finish: The finish is long-lasting and characterized by a salty peat note that harmoniously rounds off the previous flavors.

Distillery/Bottler: Nikka Whisky was founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, who is considered the father of Japanese whisky. Taketsuru studied the art of whisky making in Scotland and brought his knowledge to Japan, where he established two main distilleries: Yoichi and Miyagikyo. Yoichi is known for its peaty, bold whiskies, while Miyagikyo is famous for lighter, fruitier expressions. The combination of these two distilleries, along with the use of Coffey stills from Scotland, gives Nikka whiskies their unique depth and complexity.
