This twelve-year-old Bunnahabhain was distilled in 2014 and bottled from a Sherry Hogshead in 2026 at 57.1%. The 0.7-litre bottling is part of the High Proof series jointly presented by North Star Spirits and Sansibar Whisky. It has a natural colour and was not chill-filtered. Its vintage, age, cask and bottling strength shape the character of this particular Islay bottling.

The nose combines warm sherry sweetness, dark fruit and elegant spice with the creamy and maritime notes of this bottling. Powerful and full-bodied on the palate, the whisky brings together intense sherry fruit, a soft texture, warm sweetness and creamy depth in a harmonious whole. The lingering finish remains fruit-forward and spicy, harmoniously carrying through the bottling’s maritime elegance.

Bunnahabhain Distillery produced this Islay single malt. North Star Spirits bottled the whisky from the Sherry Hogshead as an independent bottler as part of the High Proof collaboration with Sansibar Whisky.

Bunnahabhain was founded in 1881 on Islay’s remote north-eastern coast near Port Askaig. The distillery is distinguished by its tall stills, water from the Margadale spring and a generally unpeated, robust house style. In this bottling, that distillery character meets maturation in a Sherry Hogshead.
