Special Features:

Obstgarten combines six fruit brandies: apple, Williams pear, raspberry, damson, sloe and cherry. Hammerschmiede uses hand-selected, untreated fruit and water from the Harz. Bringing these different brandies together creates an aromatic blend with a mild character.

This fruit-based spirit contains up to 3% sugar and is offered at 39% alcohol in a bottle containing 0.7 litres. It is best enjoyed in a nosing glass at room temperature.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The blend has an intense aroma of fresh apples and pears. Delicate hints of wild raspberries, cherries and damsons complement the nose.
• Palate: It is full-bodied and fruity on the palate. Gentle vanilla and spice notes complement the flavour. The tart sloe note contrasts with the natural fruit sweetness.
• Finish: Fruity notes linger through the long, harmonious finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Hercynian Distilling Co. / Hammerschmiede is based in Walkenried in the Harz. It produced its first spirits in 1985 and added single malt whisky production in 2002. Obstgarten is one of its traditional fruit specialities; the distillery also makes herbal liqueur and gin.
