Octomore 13.3 - 5 y.o. Release 2022
Special features: The Octomore 13.3 is an exceptionally smoky single malt whisky from the Bruichladdich Distillery, aged for five years in a combination of first-fill ex-bourbon casks and second-fill ex-European oak casks. The barley used is 100% from the Octomore Farm on Islay, giving the whisky a unique regional character. With a phenol content of 129.3 ppm, it is one of the most intensely smoky releases in the Octomore series.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Sweet malt sugar and subtle peat smoke lead the nose through green fruits and floral notes like rose and geranium to apricots and ethereal eucalyptus.
Palate: Velvety texture with sweet honey and brown sugar. Citrus zest and maritime shell limestone notes combine with enticing malty biscuit aromas, marzipan, and coconut.
Finish: Long-lasting and sweetly maritime with peat smoke and notes of honey, lemon, marzipan, and poached pear.
