Old Monk Coffee XO Extra Ordinary brings together aged rum and a pronounced coffee character. Coffee notes mingle with sweet rum aromas, complemented by dark chocolate and a velvety mouthfeel.

This bottling belongs to Old Monk's XO series. The bottle bears both the name Extra Ordinary and the wording Coffee Flavoured Premium Rum. Textured glass and a portrait of a monk define its presentation. It contains 0.75 litres at 40% alcohol and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Intense coffee leads on the nose, accompanied by delicate caramel and vanilla notes.
• Palate: Rounded coffee flavours combine with molasses and toffee on the palate. As it develops, the texture becomes soft and velvety, with dark chocolate and a subtle, lingering smoky note joining in.
• Finish: The finish is soft and slightly sweet. Coffee and oak linger, accompanied by a smoky note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Mohan Meakin Limited is the company behind Old Monk. Its history began in 1855 with a brewery founded by Edward Dyer in Kasauli, northern India. Further brewery and distillery sites followed. The merger of the Dyer and H.G. Meakin businesses created the predecessor of today's company, which has been called Mohan Meakin Limited since 1980.

Under N.N. Mohan, the company began developing the Mohan Nagar industrial site near Ghaziabad in 1949. Its facilities included a brewery, a distillery, maltings and a glass factory. Alongside classic Old Monk bottlings, the rum range includes flavoured versions and the XO series with Coffee, Amber and Spiced. Mohan Meakin Limited blends and bottles Coffee XO.
