Paddy combines grain, malt and pot still whiskey, is triple-distilled in County Cork and matures for three years. The brand uses three types of oak cask for maturation. The whiskey is bottled at 40% in a 0.7-litre bottle.

The three components contribute different impressions: grain whiskey provides light floral sweetness, malt whiskey adds toasted biscuit, and the pot still component gives a creamy texture with subtle hints of spice, honey and vanilla.

Malt and wood lead the overall profile, accompanied by a delicate nutty note. Honey, vanilla and spice remain subtly integrated, while toasted and lightly charred wood tones round off the mild, smooth character.

Distillery/Bottler:

The brand traces its history back to 1779. It owes its present name to Patrick J. O’Flaherty, who sold Cork Distilleries Map of Ireland Whiskey in Irish pubs for more than four decades. As publicans and their customers increasingly began asking for Paddy’s whiskey, the bottling was eventually named after him.

By the late 19th century, the whiskey had already won awards in Philadelphia, Paris, Sydney and Cork. By 1930, Paddy was available in more than 80 countries; today, the brand is part of Sazerac’s portfolio.
