Distillery/Bottler: The Pittyvaich Distillery was founded in 1974 by Arthur Bell & Sons in Dufftown, Scotland. It was designed as a sister distillery to the Dufftown Distillery and primarily produced malt whisky for blends. After being acquired by United Distillers in 1985, production was halted in 1993 and the distillery was demolished in 2002. Gordon & MacPhail, a traditional independent bottler from Elgin, Scotland, is known for bottling rare and old whiskies and has specialized in the Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength series.
